What is the Rear-View Camera?

The Ford Rear-View Camera is mounted in the rear bumper and shows what is going on behind you on a screen on the dashboard in front of you. The system activates automatically when selecting reverse gear and can assist you in parking in small spaces due to the virtual guidelines.

This technology is particularly useful for an obstructed view and those who sit lower down can often find it more difficult to see what is behind when reversing. The camera has a wide lens which increases visibility significantly and it shows obstructions such as low obstacles, animals or potentially pedestrians. When you have finished manoeuvring and take the vehicle out of reverse gear, the camera is deactivated. The screen then turns off so that the driver does not become distracted.
