What is the Intelligent Protection System (IPS)?

This technology is designed to help prevent accidents and make the driver feel safer when driving. The advanced Intelligent Protection System (IPS) coordinates a series of safety systems to offer maximum protection for you and your passengers. There are two types of safety features in the Ford Intelligent Protection System – active and passive.

Active features focus on helping you avoid having an accident, and passive features protect you if a collision is about to happen. Active features concentrate on helping you keep control of your car through Anti-Lock Braking, Traction Control and Electronic Brake-Force Distribution.

On the other hand, passive features trigger just before impact to minimise any injuries. These features include airbags, advanced seatbelts and the pedal intrusion prevention system.
