Kent County Show at Detling Showground

The Kent County Show is a showcase event for farming, countryside and rural life, hosted at the Detling Showground on the outskirts of the county town of Maidstone. The three day event brings together the very best of Kent with animals and food, fun and excitement and above all a sense of what ‘The Garden of England’ has to offer, for the whole family. The Haynes Group have supported the show since its very beginning in 1923.

The annual event, organised by the Kent County Agricultural Society offers a wide range of diverse entertainment, with activities taking place from Friday, July 5th through to Sunday, July 7th.
2019 was a landmark year as the County Show celebrated its 90th year. During this time the Show Committee have donated and given potentially millions of pounds to exceptionally worthy causes. Every penny of profit over the 90 Shows goes towards a huge number of other charities, organisations, students and school farms in Kent.

Haynes Transit-Centre

Our Haynes Transit-Centre were represented on the show stand with all models from the Ford Commercial Sports Van Range and also took the opportunity in showcasing the updated MS-RT Transit Custom. The Custom introduces the ultimate fusion of Ford's state-of-the-art commercial vehicles and MS-RT's motorsport expertise and proved a real draw to our Commercial customers.
The recently added pinstripe graphics to the range really show off the sports styling of the range.

Our Ranger demonstrator parked behind our feature Raptor drew many envious eyes, with those interested in using a Pick Up for Commercial purposes appreciating the rugged practicality that the Ranger can offer.

Ford's recently re-released 'Backbone of Britain' campaign has provided a focus on its Commercial Vehicles and many visitors to the stand were surprised by how comfortable and technologically advanced the working vehcles now are.

Haynes Ford

The Haynes stand this year featured an exclusive showing of the recently released All-New Ford Focus ST and New Ranger Raptor, Ford's new rugged new Performance Pick Up. Alongside the performance theme of this showHaynes paid homage to its long Ford dealer history by showing off its very own Ford Mustang from 1965. The car, with restored paintwork from our very own Accident Repair Bodyshop was housed under a canopy with banners showing the history of Haynes. The vehicle and display drew a lot of interest from Maidstone residents, both past and present, to point at pictures of cars they had owned or the premises that they could remember from years past.

Joining the Focus ST, Raptor and Mustangs we showed off a Fiesta Vignale which drew much interest for its leather seats and the meticulous attention to detail shown in its manufacture. AN EcoSport completed the New Car Display.

A Show offer was well received by our visitors with a Patriotic wrapped Blue and White Ka+ on sale from £9,999, to supplement our two used cars on the stand - a Kuga and Focus.

A racing simulator ensured that our younger visitors were kept amused with a family experience at a local Go Kart circuit the price for those who could post the fastest lap.

Haynes Agricultural

Our Haynes Agricultural department were celebrating their Centenary Year and our Directors were visited on the stand by HRH The Duke of Kent, who was enthusiastic in seeing the range of New Holland and JCB units on display. He was fascinated by the robotic mowers on show from our Parts department and was pleased to see our Fordson tractor from 1908 on the stand, chatting with the staff about his memories of these historic vehicles.

The Agricultural department were also awarded First Place for their trade stand so all-in-all a very successful, award winning event for the Haynes Group.
